Hi, I'm Gerard
As a wedding and portrait photographer based in Derry and Donegal, I specialise in capturing candid and relaxed moments. My style is all about documenting your special day, from bridal prep to the first dance, capturing all the laughter, tears, and raw emotions.
I am dedicated to telling your unique love story through my lens and am always on the lookout for those special moments you might miss while you enjoy yourselves!
If you're interested in having me tell your story, please don't hesitate to contact me. I look forward to speaking with you!
What to expect on the day.
I am a very laid back kind of person and enjoy the craic. Always feel privileged when asked along to share a wedding day.
I prefer to capture the day as it is - My photography isn't airy and light, nor is it dark and moody. I go in with the intent of showing how it felt to be there.
I try and get some fun going to lighten it all up and get people smiling. I like to stand back and capture the moments with a longer lens and create that memory.
Candid photography at a wedding is a style of photography that aims to capture natural, unposed moments and emotions of the couple and their guests during the wedding day. Unlike traditional wedding photography, which often involves posed shots, candid photography focuses on capturing real moments as they happen.
The goal of candid wedding photography is to capture the essence of the day, to tell the story of the couple and their guests, and to preserve the memories of the wedding in a more natural and spontaneous way. This can include capturing the bride and groom getting ready, guests arriving, the ceremony, the reception, and the dance floor.
Candid wedding photography often requires a more unobtrusive approach, with the photographer blending into the background to capture the moments as they unfold. The photographer may also use longer lenses to capture candid shots from a distance, allowing them to remain discreet and avoid disrupting the flow of events.
One of the biggest benefits of candid photography at a wedding is that it captures the genuine emotions and reactions of the couple and their guests. It provides a more intimate look at the wedding day and preserves memories that might otherwise be forgotten.
Overall, candid photography can add a unique and personal touch to a wedding and is a great way to capture the essence of the day in a natural and spontaneous way.
