Peter & Lorna

Peter & Lorna got married on 14th August 2018 at Bishop’s Gate Hotel in Derry, the wedding between Peter & Lorna took place.  I was there for a little while just to get some photos of the newly married couple. At Gerard Gormley Photography, I like to take photos in a fun, natural and classic way.  The guests were all gathered at the hotel when i arrived.  I met Peter and Lorna and we decided just to do some images inside in the beautiful library area of the hotel.  The light was almost perfect for us and as you can see below, we got some lovely images.  Many thanks to Peter & Lorna for allowing me to enjoy their day, if only for a little while.  I wish you both many happy years together.  Please feel free to contact me if I can help with any photography needs.  You can get me here or on Facebook at Gerard Gormley Photography.

A little about me.

I’ve spent years helping people to find the perfect sole. In my shoe shop in the heart of Derry and now through my passion for photography
I get to photograph people with their soulmates! My daughter Bronagh and parents have always been and always will be a big part of my life. We have shared so many moments and enjoy looking at older photos and laughing together. Moments and the moments between moments during a wedding or a portrait session hold so much emotion. I love to capture images in a fun, natural and classic way. I’ve been passionate about photography for years, from the darkroom to my digital camera today, and storytelling is at the heart of what I do. I’m Gerard and I look forward to telling your story.

Bride on the Wedding Morning

Bride on the Wedding Morning – here are a few images from getting ready to meeting the man she loves. This is Martina and Justin’s wedding. The morning of a wedding can be chaos but it is so much fun. This is obviously the bride’s house and will be very different to the groom’s house. Here you have hair and make up along with so much stuff going on. The main focus is the bride but if kids are involved things can get tricky lol. These images are when everyone is ready and starting to get ready for the trip to the Church.

Ciara and Nathan

Ciara and Nathan had their photo shoot at the Pollan Beach near Ballyliffin. This really is a fabulous location in Donegal. Many bridal parties arrive here for photos so we were lucky with the weather. Ciara and Nathan were great fun to work with and they all just got stuck in and had a fun day. Rain had fallen earlier in the day and we got a lovely photo of the couple under the rainbow. Without the rain you will not get that shot.

Gillian & Dee’s Wedding

Gillian & Dee’s Wedding took place on 25th January 2020. The church service was held at Glendermott Chucrh of Ireland followed by a reception at Bishop’s Gate Hotel in Derry. The service itself was very nice and then there was a lot of fun and dancing at Bishop’s Gate Hotel. The Wedding of Gillian and Dee was the first wedding for me this year.

A Wedding Shoot at Roe Park

A wedding Shoot at Roe Park – i was asked by Local Women Magazine recently to get some images from a Wedding Shoot at Roe Park resort. It was a gorgeous day. Sometimes bright sunshine is not the best conditions for photos but we managed ok. Jessica Doherty and Rory Cooke were the two models for the day and yes they were both brilliant during the day. Esquire Wedding and Formal Wear supplied the men’s suits. Victoria Ivy Bridal Emporium supplied the wedding dresses. Hair and make up was by Ashburn Image.

Roe Park Resort is one of Northern Ireland’s premiere golf and spa resorts.

Hard As Oak with Local Women Magazine

Hard As Oak is a 10km challenge like no other. Located in the picturesque Faughan Valley and incorporating all its finest features this really is a challenge like no other. They have a cliff jump, swings, rope climb, slip’n’slide, gorge climb, swamp, mature woodland, walled gardens, marsh, lanes, gullies, paths, streams, rivers, trenches, stone stairways, open fields and a plethora of obstacles built in around this varied terrain. I went along on the morning of the challenge to get some photos for Local Women Magazine.

These are just group shots that I have but there is a link for more action shots on the Hard As Oak page. At Gerard Gormley Photography, I strive for the best photos possible. If I can help in any way with your photography needs then please feel free to get in touch. You can also follow my work on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Many thanks for taking the time to look – Gerard Gormley Photography.

Some advice for Hard As Oak training. A running program should be your first step for building endurance. If you’re new to running, consider joining a local running club to get assistance from experienced runners who can help train and give advice as you become fitter. This will allow you to build up a moderate level of fitness, to introduce new training methods and develop skills.

Womens Inspire Network

Womens Inspire Network

Womens Inspire Network was today’s office. I met a lady recently called Samantha Kelly at a Women in Enterprise Event in Derry. I then had the pleasure of being asked to take photos at a conference called Women’s Inspire Network being held at Harvey’s Point near Donegal town. Samantha is really an incredible lady who goes by the name of “The Tweeting Goddess” which comes from her expert knowledge of the social network platform Twitter.

Anna Daly the Irish TV Presenter was there to host the event and proved very popular. The event was very well attended on what was the most gorgeous day from a weather point of view. The conference itself was very entertaining and the speakers were very well versed on what they talked about. There were many speakers in attendance and covered many topics. There was a fabulous social aspect on the day and everyone there was more than generous with their knowledge in order to help each other. At Gerard Gormley Photography I strive to get the best images possible so please feel free to get in touch if I can help in any way with your photography needs. Please feel free to share this post.
